🍽️ Grilled Tomatoes in Marinade

Ingredients
- 1 kg yellow and red cherry tomatoes
- powdered sugar
- 250 ml olive oil
- 5 garlic cloves
- 1 bunch thyme
- 1 chili pepper
- sea salt
Instructions
- 1. Wash the cherry tomatoes thoroughly.
- 2. Make a shallow cut into the tomatoes.
- 3. Gently open the tomatoes so they unfold.
- 4. Place the tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 5. Lightly dust the tomatoes with powdered sugar.
- 6. Drizzle some olive oil over the tomatoes.
- 7. Preheat the grill to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 8. Grill the tomatoes for 10 to 15 minutes.
- 9. Remove the tomatoes from the grill when they are soft but still hold their shape.
- 10. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 11. Finely chop two garlic cloves.
- 12. Pluck half of the thyme leaves from the stems.
- 13. Finely chop the thyme leaves.
- 14. Wash the chili pepper.
- 15. Cut the chili pepper in half lengthwise.
- 16. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper.
- 17. Finely chop the chili pepper.
- 18. Mix the chopped chili with the chopped garlic and thyme.
- 19. Season the mixture with salt.
- 20. Spread the garlic-thyme mixture over the grilled tomatoes.
- 21. Fold the tomatoes back together.
- 22. Place the tomatoes into a prepared jar.
- 23. Layer the remaining garlic and thyme sprigs into the jar.
- 24. Fill the jar with olive oil.
- 25. Seal the jar tightly.
- 26. Let the tomatoes marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
