🍽️ Apricot or Strawberry Jam

Ingredients
- 800 g apricots (or 700 g strawberries)
- 1 orange (untreated)
- 300 g extra setting sugar (2:1)
- 1 packet citric acid
Instructions
- 1. Wash the fruit thoroughly.
- 2. Remove the pits from the fruit.
- 3. Chop the fruit into small pieces.
- 4. Rinse the orange under hot water.
- 5. Dry the orange.
- 6. Peel the orange, but avoid taking any of the white pith as it is bitter.
- 7. Cut the orange peel into very fine strips.
- 8. Squeeze the juice from the orange.
- 9. Place the fruit, orange peel, orange juice, jam sugar, and citric acid into a pot.
- 10. Stir the ingredients well.
- 11. Let the mixture steep for one hour.
- 12. Place the pot over high heat.
- 13. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
- 14. Let the jam bubble vigorously for at least three minutes.
- 15. Fill the hot jam to the brim into clean jars.
- 16. Seal the jars immediately.
- 17. Place the jars upside down on their lids for about 15 minutes.
- 18. Turn the jars right side up and let them cool down completely.
