🍽️ Crunchy Chard with Almonds and Saffron

Ingredients
- 800 g chard leaves
- salt
- 2 slices toast bread
- 2 garlic cloves
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 100 g ground almond kernels
- 50 g raisins
- 1 sachet saffron (0.1 g)
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the chard thoroughly and cut it into coarse pieces.
- 2. Bring water to a boil, add salt, and cook the chard for about 3 minutes (this is called blanching).
- 3. Drain the chard, rinse it with cold water, and let it drain well.
- 4. Take the toast slices and remove the hard crust from all sides.
- 5. Crumble the crustless bread into small, irregular pieces.
- 6. Peel the garlic clove.
- 7. Heat half of the oil amount in a pan.
- 8. Toast the almonds in the hot oil briefly.
- 9. Remove the almonds from the pan and set them aside.
- 10. Fry the bread pieces in the remaining pan until briefly crispy.
- 11. Press the garlic directly over the bread into the pan.
- 12. Remove the bread with garlic from the pan and set it aside as well.
- 13. Add the drained chard and the raisins to the pan with the remaining oil.
- 14. Fry the mixture over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
- 15. Dissolve the saffron in a small amount of warm water.
- 16. Add the saffron liquid, the toasted almonds, and the garlic bread to the chard.
- 17. Heat everything briefly so the flavors combine.
- 18. Season the dish finally with salt and pepper to taste.
