🍰 Moist Almond Cake with Orange Sauce

Ingredients
- soft butter (for the baking pan)
- soft bread crumbs (for the baking pan)
- 250 g soft butter
- 300 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 untreated orange (juice and zest)
- 4 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 250 g ground almond kernels
- 80 ml milk
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
- 2 oranges
- 1 lemon
- 0.5 cinnamon stick
- 40 ml orange liqueur
- 50 g sugar
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with fan setting.
- 2. Grease a springform pan generously with butter.
- 3. Sprinkle a few breadcrumbs or dry breadcrumbs inside so the cake does not stick later.
- 4. Beat the butter together with 250 grams of sugar in a bowl until creamy and light.
- 5. Stir in a pinch of salt, the juice of one orange, and the grated zest of the orange.
- 6. Add the eggs one by one.
- 7. Mix each egg well before adding the next.
- 8. Mix the flour with the baking powder and 200 grams of ground almonds in a separate bowl.
- 9. Now add the flour mixture and the milk alternately to the butter-egg mixture.
- 10. Stir everything until smooth until you have a soft, thick batter.
- 11. Fill the batter into the prepared pan.
- 12. Smooth the surface.
- 13. Bake the cake for about 60 minutes.

- 16. Bring the juice together with cinnamon, a splash of liqueur, and sugar to a boil in a saucepan.
- 17. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
- 18. Then strain it through a fine sieve to remove any particles
- 19. and let it cool completely.
- 20. Carefully release the cake from the pan.
- 21. Cut it into pieces
- 22. and serve it in small bowls together with the cooled sauce.
