  1. 1. Put the flour for the dough into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Sift the flour through a sieve into the bowl.
  3. 3. Make a well in the center of the flour.
  4. 4. Crumble the yeast into the well.
  5. 5. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  6. 6. Pour in 3 tablespoons of lukewarm milk.
  7. 7. Gently mix the ingredients in the well.
  8. 8. Cover the bowl.
  9. 9. Let the dough rise for about 30 minutes.
  10. 10. Now add the remaining ingredients for the dough.
  11. 11. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  12. 12. Let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.
  13. 13. Put sugar and cream for the filling into a pot.
  14. 14. Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 10 minutes.
  15. 15. Stir the mixture occasionally.
  16. 16. Remove the pot from the heat.
  17. 17. Stir in the chopped cherries.
  18. 18. Put all ingredients for the quark mixture into a bowl.
  19. 19. Stir the ingredients until smooth.
  20. 20. Dust a work surface with flour.
  21. 21. Roll out the dough on the floured surface.
  22. 22. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  23. 23. Place the dough on the prepared tray.
  24. 24. Form a border from the dough.
  25. 25. Spread the quark mixture over the dough.
  26. 26. Add the almond mixture on top.
  27. 27. Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection).
  28. 28. Bake the cake for about 60 minutes.
