  2. 2. Remove the outer husks and silk from the corn.
  3. 3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
  4. 4. Boil the corn cobs over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. 5. Remove the corn cobs from the water.
  6. 6. Let the corn drip dry well.
  7. 7. Beat the butter until creamy.
  8. 8. Wash the thyme sprigs.
  9. 9. Shake the thyme sprigs dry.
  10. 10. Set aside three whole thyme sprigs.
  11. 11. Pluck the leaves from the remaining thyme sprigs.
  12. 12. Finely chop the thyme leaves.
  13. 13. Mix the chopped thyme leaves with the butter.
  14. 14. Season the thyme butter with salt and pepper.
  15. 15. Cut the corn cobs into three pieces.
  16. 16. Preheat a kettle grill.
  17. 17. Grill the corn pieces for 6 to 7 minutes.
  18. 18. Turn the corn pieces repeatedly while grilling.
  19. 19. Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  20. 20. Place the grilled corn pieces into the dish.
  21. 21. Spread the thyme butter over the corn.
  22. 22. Close the grill lid.
  23. 23. Let the butter melt for 2 to 3 minutes.
  24. 24. Remove the corn cobs from the grill.
  25. 25. Lightly salt the corn cobs.
  26. 26. Garnish the corn cobs with the reserved thyme sprigs.
  27. 27. Serve the corn cobs.
