  1. 1. Fill a large pot with water and add a pinch of salt and a piece of butter.
  2. 2. Bring the water to a boil and place the corn cobs inside.
  3. 3. Cook the corn cobs on medium heat for about 40 to 60 minutes until tender.
  4. 4. Remove the corn cobs from the water and let them drain well.
  5. 5. Season the warm corn cobs generously with black pepper.
  6. 6. Place the corn cobs on the preheated grill.
  7. 7. Grill the corn cobs for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  8. 8. Remove the corn cobs from the grill shortly before serving.
  9. 9. Place a piece of herb butter on each corn cob.
  10. 10. Let the butter melt slightly on the warm corn.
  11. 11. Insert a toothpick into both ends of each corn cob to use as handles.
  12. 12. Serve the corn cobs immediately on plates.
