🥤 Green Tea Pistachio Macarons

Ingredients
- 100 g peeled almond kernels
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp matcha tea powder
- 150 g butter
- 60 g powdered sugar
- 120 g cream cheese (plain)
- 2 tbsp matcha tea powder
- 4 tbsp chopped pistachios
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 120 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 3. Grind the almonds in a mixer until very fine.
- 4. Whisk the egg whites together with the lemon juice until stiff.
- 5. Let the powdered sugar trickle into the egg white mixture gradually.
- 6. Continue whisking the mixture until it is firm and glossy.
- 7. Gently fold in the ground almonds and the matcha powder.
- 8. Fill the batter into a piping bag fitted with a large round nozzle.
- 9. Pipe even dots onto the prepared baking tray.
- 10. Bake the macarons in the oven for about 10 minutes.
- 11. The macarons should be crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside.
- 12. Remove the tray from the oven.
- 13. Carefully loosen the macarons from the baking paper.
- 14. Let the macarons cool down completely.
- 15. Whisk the butter together with the powdered sugar until fluffy.
