  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 120 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  3. 3. Grind the almonds in a mixer until very fine.
  4. 4. Whisk the egg whites together with the lemon juice until stiff.
  5. 5. Let the powdered sugar trickle into the egg white mixture gradually.
  6. 6. Continue whisking the mixture until it is firm and glossy.
  7. 7. Gently fold in the ground almonds and the matcha powder.
  8. 8. Fill the batter into a piping bag fitted with a large round nozzle.
  9. 9. Pipe even dots onto the prepared baking tray.
  10. 10. Bake the macarons in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  11. 11. The macarons should be crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside.
  12. 12. Remove the tray from the oven.
  13. 13. Carefully loosen the macarons from the baking paper.
  14. 14. Let the macarons cool down completely.
  15. 15. Whisk the butter together with the powdered sugar until fluffy.
