  1. 1. Mix flour, baking powder, powdered sugar, chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and ground cloves in a bowl.
  2. 2. Add the butter cut into small cubes and the cream.
  3. 3. Knead the ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
  4. 4. Shape the dough into a ball.
  5. 5. Wrap the dough ball in cling film.
  6. 6. Place the foil in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
  8. 8. Grease a baking sheet with butter.
  9. 9. Take two-thirds of the dough out of the refrigerator.
  10. 10. Roll out this portion of the dough flat on the sheet.
  11. 11. Warm the jam in a pot until it is liquid.
  12. 12. Stir the warm jam until smooth.
  13. 13. Spread the jam evenly over the dough base.
  14. 14. Take the remaining dough out of the refrigerator.
  15. 15. Roll out the remaining dough flat as well.
  16. 16. Cut the dough into strips about 3 millimeters wide.
  17. 17. Place the strips diagonally over the jam to form a lattice pattern.
  18. 18. Bake the slices for about 30 minutes in the oven.
  19. 19. Take the tray out of the oven.
  20. 20. Let the slices cool down completely.
  21. 21. Cut the cooled slices into squares of about 4 by 4 centimeters.
