  3. 3. Add the chopped ingredients and the lentils to a pot.
  4. 4. Cover everything with about 400 to 450 milliliters of salted water.
  5. 5. Let the mixture simmer for approx. 12 minutes.
  6. 6. Stir occasionally.
  7. 7. Mash the cooked lentils finely with a potato masher.
  8. 8. Let the mixture cool down briefly.
  9. 9. Stir in the yogurt and the cumin.
  10. 10. Season the dip to taste with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and turmeric.
