  3. 3. Sauté the vegetables over medium heat until they are soft and translucent.
  4. 4. Add the bell pepper, celery, chicken breast, and smoked sausage.
  5. 5. Sauté everything while stirring constantly.
  6. 6. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture.
  7. 7. Keep stirring until the flour has absorbed the moisture.
  8. 8. Pour in the chicken broth while stirring.
  9. 9. Stir in the puréed tomatoes and the bay leaf.
  10. 10. Let the sauce simmer over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  11. 11. Remove the pan from the heat.
  12. 12. Season with salt, oregano, and plenty of pepper.
  13. 13. Add the shrimp to the pan.
  14. 14. Let the shrimp cook briefly.
  15. 15. Cook the linguine in plenty of salted water until al dente.
