  1. 1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan.
  2. 2. Let the melted butter cool down.
  3. 3. Rinse the limes under hot water.
  4. 4. Dry the limes with a cloth.
  5. 5. Grate the lime zest finely over a bowl.
  6. 6. Set the limes aside.
  7. 7. Add the yogurt to the cooled butter.
  8. 8. Add the eggs to the mixture.
  9. 9. Add the sugar to the mixture.
  10. 10. Mix everything thoroughly with a hand mixer.
  11. 11. Put the semolina into a separate bowl.
  12. 12. Add the baking powder to the semolina.
  13. 13. Mix the semolina and baking powder well.
  14. 14. Stir the semolina mixture into the yogurt-egg mixture.
  15. 15. Continue stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  16. 16. Line the bottom of a square baking pan (24x24 cm) with baking paper.
  17. 17. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  18. 18. Smooth the surface of the batter with a rubber spatula.
  19. 19. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (fan: 160 °C, gas: setting 2-3).
  20. 20. Place the pan on the middle rack.
  21. 21. Bake the cake for 40 to 45 minutes.
  22. 22. Insert a wooden skewer into the center of the cake.
  23. 23. Check if the skewer comes out clean.
  24. 24. If the skewer is dirty, bake the cake for a few minutes longer.
  25. 25. Cut a wedge-shaped piece off the crown of the pomegranate.
  26. 26. Hold the pomegranate over a bowl.
  27. 27. Break the fruit apart with some pressure.
  28. 28. Remove the white membranes from the seeds.
  29. 29. Halve the limes.
  30. 30. Squeeze the juice from the lime halves.
  31. 31. Take the cake out of the oven.
  32. 32. Poke the cake several times with the wooden skewer.
  33. 33. Mix the lime juice with the sweetener.
  34. 34. Soak the cake with the lime-sweetener mixture.
  35. 35. Let the cake cool in the pan.
  36. 36. Cut the cake into 25 roughly equal squares.
  37. 37. Sprinkle the squares with the pomegranate seeds.
  38. 38. Serve the cake squares.
