🍰 Gingerbread Figures

Ingredients
- 100 g Butter
- 250 g Honey
- 125 g Cane sugar
- 1 tbsp Gingerbread spice
- 1 Egg
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
- 500 g Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- Food coloring
Instructions
- 1. Warm up the butter, honey, and sugar in a pot while stirring constantly until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- 2. Let the mixture cool down briefly until it is only lukewarm.
- 3. Stir the spices, egg, salt, and cocoa into the cooled butter mixture.
- 4. Mix the flour with the baking powder in a separate bowl.
- 5. Knead the flour mixture into the butter mixture by hand until a smooth dough forms.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 7. Dust a work surface with flour and roll out the dough there to a thickness of 1 centimeter.
- 8. Cut out the desired figures from the dough using cookie cutters.
- 9. Place the figures on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 10. Bake the figures at 200 degrees Celsius (gas mark 3) for about 12 minutes.
- 11. Let the baked figures cool down completely.
- 12. Stir powdered sugar with a small amount of water to make a thick icing.
- 13. Divide the icing into portions and color each portion with food coloring.
- 14. Fill the colored icings into small piping bags.
- 15. Decorate the cooled gingerbread figures with the colorful icing.
