  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-forced / gas levels 2-3).
  2. 2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  3. 3. Beat 175 grams of soft butter in a bowl until creamy.
  4. 4. Add 100 grams of whole cane sugar and the eggs to the butter alternately, mixing well after each addition.
  5. 5. Add a pinch of salt to the mixture.
  6. 6. Mix 400 grams of flour with baking powder in a separate bowl.
  7. 7. Add the flour mixture and the milk gradually to the butter mixture and stir quickly until a smooth batter forms.
  8. 8. Spread the batter onto the prepared baking tray and smooth it out.
  9. 9. Sprinkle 50 grams of ground almonds evenly over the batter.
  10. 10. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
  11. 11. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
  12. 12. Cut the apple pieces into small cubes.
  13. 13. Mix the apple pieces with lemon juice, cornstarch, vanilla powder, and honey.
  14. 14. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the batter.
  15. 15. Mix 100 grams of flour with the remaining ground almonds, about 80 milliliters of cold water, and the rest of the whole cane sugar.
  16. 16. Add the remaining butter in small pieces to the crumble mixture.
  17. 17. Add the lavender flowers.
  18. 18. Rub the ingredients between your hands to form crumbly streusel.
  19. 19. Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the apples.
  20. 20. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes until golden brown.
  21. 21. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely.
  22. 22. Cut the cake into pieces.
  23. 23. Dust the pieces with powdered sugar before serving.
