🍝 Crispy Lasagne with Mozzarella

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 carrot
- 1 stalk celery
- 200 g mozzarella
- 400 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 100 ml meat broth
- 400 g peeled tomatoes (can)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp whole wheat flour
- 400 ml milk (1.5% fat)
- 400 g whole wheat lasagna sheets
- 60 g parmesan
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and the garlic. Chop both ingredients very finely.
- 2. Peel the carrot. Clean and wash the celery stalk. Cut both into fine cubes.
- 3. Slice the mozzarella into thin slices.
- 4. Heat the olive oil in a large pan.
- 5. Fry the minced meat until crumbly over medium heat.
- 6. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and celery to the pan.
- 7. Sauté the vegetables briefly with the meat.
- 8. Stir the tomato paste into the meat and vegetable mixture.
- 9. Pour in the meat broth and the tomatoes with their juice.
- 10. Mash the tomatoes slightly with a spoon.
- 11. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 12. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 30 minutes until it thickens.
- 13. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
- 14. Stir the flour into the butter and fry it briefly.
- 15. Pour in the milk gradually while stirring constantly.
- 16. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 17. Let the béchamel sauce simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes until creamy.
- 18. Place some béchamel sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- 19. Place a layer of lasagna sheets on the sauce.
- 20. Layer the minced meat sauce, béchamel sauce, mozzarella slices, and pasta sheets alternately into the dish.
- 21. Finish the layers with a layer of lasagna sheets.
- 22. Brush the top layer with some béchamel sauce.
- 23. Grate the parmesan and sprinkle it over the lasagna.
- 24. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection 160 °C or gas mark 2–3).
- 25. Bake the lasagna for 45 minutes until golden brown.
- 26. Cover the lasagna with foil if it becomes too dark.
