🍽️ Tender Lamb Steaks with Sweet and Sour Onions

Ingredients
- 2 vegetable onions
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 80 ml vegetable broth (from the jar)
- 50 ml white wine
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 juniper berries
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 bunch basil
- 4 lamb chops
- 1 tbsp herb butter
- 4 thyme sprigs
- salt
- pepper
- baguette
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and slice it into thin strips.
- 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and sauté the onion strips.
- 3. Pour the broth and wine over the onions.
- 4. Mix the vinegar, sugar, and spices into the liquid.
- 5. Place the lid on the pan and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- 6. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems and slice them into thin strips.
- 7. Stir half of the basil strips into the onion mixture.
- 8. Rinse the meat and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
- 9. Heat the remaining oil in a clean pan.
- 10. Sear the meat for 3 minutes on each side.
- 11. Place the herb butter and thyme sprigs on top of the hot meat.
- 12. Cover the pan and cook the meat for another 2 minutes.
- 13. Season the meat with salt and pepper to finish.
- 14. Serve the lamb together with the onions and fresh baguette.
