  2. 2. Cut the meat into small cubes.
  3. 3. Peel the onion and dice it finely.
  4. 4. Peel the carrots and slice them.
  5. 5. Peel the celery and cut it into cubes.
  6. 6. Wash the leek, remove the tough ends, and slice it into rings.
  7. 7. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly.
  8. 8. Grease a casserole dish with a lid using butter.
  9. 9. Arrange half of the potato slices in the dish.
  10. 10. Season the potatoes with marjoram, salt, and pepper.
  11. 11. Distribute the meat and the prepared vegetables evenly on top.
  12. 12. Cover everything with the remaining potato slices.
  13. 13. Season the top layer again with salt and pepper.
  14. 14. Pour the broth over the casserole.
  15. 15. Place the lid on the dish.
  16. 16. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (180 °C for fan-assisted or gas mark 3).
  17. 17. Bake the casserole in the oven for about 1 hour.
  18. 18. Remove the lid.
  19. 19. Bake the casserole for another 20 to 30 minutes without the lid.
