  1. 1. Boil plenty of salted water and cook the pasta in it until very al dente.
  2. 2. Drain the pasta, rinse it with cold water, and let it drain well.
  3. 3. Peel the onion and garlic and chop them finely.
  4. 4. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion and garlic mixture until translucent.
  5. 5. Add the tomatoes and oregano and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Remove the pan from the heat.
  7. 7. Crumble half of the cheese into the pan and stir in the drained olives.
  8. 8. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
  9. 9. Fold in the drained pasta and let the salad cool down.
  10. 10. Wash the basil and shake it dry.
  11. 11. Cut the basil into thin strips.
  12. 12. Divide the pasta salad onto plates.
  13. 13. Sprinkle the remaining diced cheese over the salad.
  14. 14. Garnish the salad with the basil strips and serve.
