  1. 1. Peel the red onions and cut them into thin strips.
  2. 2. Peel the potatoes and cut them in half.
  3. 3. Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the onion strips briefly.
  4. 4. Stir the harissa paste into the onions until well combined.
  5. 5. Transfer the onions and sauce into a baking dish.
  6. 6. Heat the oil in the same pan and briefly sauté the potato halves.
  7. 7. Distribute the potatoes evenly over the onions in the baking dish.
  8. 8. Season the entire vegetable mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. 9. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  10. 10. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven.
  11. 11. Bake the vegetables for 10 minutes.
  12. 12. Pour 50 milliliters of water into the baking dish.
  13. 13. Lightly salt the salmon.
  14. 14. Place the fish fillets skin-side down on top of the potatoes.
  15. 15. Bake the dish for another 15 to 20 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
