🍽️ Crispy Salmon on Fresh Strawberry-Chili Salad

Ingredients
- 300 g strawberries
- 60 g red shallots (2 red shallots)
- 1 green chili pepper
- 20 g basil (1 bunch)
- 4 sprigs cilantro
- 2 limes (juice)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- 500 g salmon fillet (with skin, 4 salmon fillets)
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly wash the strawberries under running water.
- 2. Remove the green stems from the strawberries.
- 3. Cut the strawberries into small, bite-sized pieces.
- 4. Peel the shallots.
- 5. Slice the shallots into thin rings.
- 6. Cut the chili peppers in half lengthwise.
- 7. Remove the seeds from the chili peppers.
- 8. Rinse the deseeded chili peppers briefly.
- 9. Slice the chili peppers into thin rings as well.
- 10. Wash the fresh herbs under cold water.
- 11. Shake the herbs dry.
- 12. Pick the leaves off the stems.
- 13. Set aside half of the herbs.
- 14. Finely chop the remaining half of the herbs.
- 15. Place the prepared strawberries into a bowl.
- 16. Add the shallot rings to the bowl.
- 17. Add the finely chopped herbs to the bowl.
- 18. Add the chili rings to the mixture.
- 19. Add the lime juice.
- 20. Add the honey to the bowl.
- 21. Add one tablespoon of olive oil to the mixture.
- 22. Season the mixture with salt.
- 23. Season the mixture with black pepper.
- 24. Mix all ingredients well together.
- 25. Let the salad mixture sit for 20 minutes.
- 26. Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water.
- 27. Pat the salmon fillets dry with kitchen paper.
- 28. Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan.
- 29. Place the salmon fillets in the pan skin-side down.
- 30. Fry the fillets over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes.
- 31. Turn the salmon fillets to the other side.
- 32. Fry the fillets on the second side for another 6 to 8 minutes.
- 33. Season the cooked salmon with salt.
- 34. Season the cooked salmon with black pepper.
- 35. Remove the salmon from the pan.
- 36. Plate the salmon.
- 37. Place the strawberry salad next to the salmon.
- 38. Sprinkle the dish with the reserved fresh herbs.
