🍽️ Creamy Pumpkin Mozzarella Gratin

Ingredients
- 800 g pumpkin flesh (e.g. Muscat, Hokkaido)
- butter (for the dish)
- 140 g mozzarella
- 3 eggs
- 250 ml whipping cream
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- nutmeg (freshly grated)
- 1 tbsp sage leaf
- 4 tbsp freshly grated parmesan
- 1 tsp freshly chopped sage
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Cut the pumpkin flesh into narrow strips.
- 3. Grease a baking dish with butter.
- 4. Arrange the pumpkin strips evenly in the dish.
- 5. Let the mozzarella drain well.
- 6. Slice the mozzarella into thin slices.
- 7. Whisk the eggs with the cream until combined.
- 8. Season the egg mixture with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- 9. Pour the egg mixture over the pumpkin strips.
- 10. Distribute the mozzarella slices and the sage leaves on top.
- 11. Mix the parmesan with the chopped sage.
- 12. Sprinkle the parmesan-sage mixture over the gratin.
- 13. Bake the gratin in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
- 14. Cover the gratin in time so that it does not become too dark.
- 15. Remove the gratin from the oven.
- 16. Serve the dish immediately.
