🍽️ Pumpkin in Vanilla-Cinnamon Syrup

Ingredients
- 1 pumpkin
- 75 g raw cane sugar
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
- 1. Wash the pumpkin and cut it into four equal pieces.
- 2. Remove the inner core with the seeds and peel off the hard skin completely.
- 3. Cut the soft flesh into large, bite-sized cubes.
- 4. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise so that it is divided into two long halves.
- 5. Put 1 liter of water, the sugar, the two vanilla pod halves, and the cinnamon stick into a saucepan.
- 6. Bring the liquid to a boil on the stove.
- 7. Reduce the heat to a low setting and let the mixture simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes.
- 8. Wait until a thick syrup sauce has formed.
- 9. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool down completely.
- 10. Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
- 11. Place the pumpkin cubes into a heatproof baking dish.
- 12. Remove the cinnamon stick and the vanilla pods from the cooled sauce.
- 13. Pour the clear syrup evenly over the pumpkin cubes in the dish.
- 14. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake the cubes for 90 minutes.
- 15. Take the dish out occasionally and turn the pumpkin pieces repeatedly so they cook evenly.
- 16. Remove the dish from the oven and serve the dish cold.
