  8. 8. Deglaze the vegetables with the broth.
  9. 9. Add the potatoes and the soaked beans to the pot.
  10. 10. Season the soup with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  11. 11. Simmer the soup, stirring occasionally, for about 45 minutes until everything is cooked through.
  12. 12. Add the bacon cubes and let them simmer in the soup for another 5 minutes.
