🍽️ Crispy Cabbage Salad with Bacon

Ingredients
- 800 g white cabbage (1 small white cabbage)
- 1 onion
- 100 g turkey bacon
- 2 tsp caraway seeds
- 5 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 3 tbsp rapeseed oil (30 ml)
- 100 ml poultry stock
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Remove the outer leaves from the white cabbage.
- 2. Wash the cabbage and cut it into four quarters.
- 3. Cut out the hard core in the center in a wedge shape.
- 4. Slice the cabbage into thin strips using a vegetable peeler or knife.
- 5. Peel the onion and chop it finely.
- 6. Cut the bacon into small cubes.
- 7. Fry the bacon cubes in a pan over medium heat for about 6 minutes until golden brown.
- 8. Remove the bacon from the pan and set it aside.
- 9. Sauté the chopped onions in the remaining fat in the same pan.
- 10. Add the cumin, vinegar, and poultry stock to the onions.
- 11. Bring the mixture to a brief boil.
- 12. Pour the hot liquid over the sliced white cabbage.
- 13. Mix everything thoroughly.
- 14. Let the salad marinate for 1 hour.
- 15. Mix the finished salad with a little oil and the previously fried bacon cubes.
- 16. Fill the cabbage salad into small bowls.
- 17. Serve the salad immediately.
