🍽️ Fresh Herb Bread

Ingredients
- 0.5 cube fresh yeast (21 g)
- 500 g wheat flour Type 1050 (+ flour for the work surface)
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 4 sprigs parsley
- 3 sprigs thyme
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 1 sprig oregano
Instructions
- 1. Dissolve the yeast in 250 milliliters of lukewarm water.
- 2. Let the yeast mixture rest for 5 to 10 minutes.
- 3. Mix the flour with salt in a large bowl.
- 4. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
- 5. Pour the yeast water along with the oil into the well.
- 6. Process the ingredients with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to form a smooth dough.
- 7. If the dough feels too wet, work in a little extra flour.
- 8. If the dough feels too dry, add a little lukewarm water.
- 9. Knead the dough vigorously by hand on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- 10. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 11. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 12. Wash the herbs thoroughly.
- 13. Shake the herbs dry.
- 14. Finely chop the herbs.
- 15. Knead the risen dough well again.
- 16. Work the chopped herbs completely into the dough.
- 17. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
- 18. Shape each portion into a small ball.
- 19. Place the dough balls into forms lined with baking paper.
- 20. Let the shaped breads rise for another 15 minutes.
- 21. Preheat the oven.
- 22. Bake the breads at 200 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced or gas mark 3) for about 30 minutes.
- 23. Remove the breads from the oven.
- 24. Let the breads cool down completely.
- 25. Serve the bread.
