🍽️ Oven Trout with Thyme

Ingredients
- 4 Trout (each approx. 500 g, ready for cooking)
- 1 bunch Thyme
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 3 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 Lemons
- 4 Bay leaves
- 8 Garlic cloves
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Celsius.
- 2. Wash the trout thoroughly inside and out.
- 3. Pat the fish dry with a kitchen towel.
- 4. Pluck half of the thyme leaves from the stems.
- 5. Chop the thyme leaves very finely.
- 6. Brush the trout inside and out with olive oil.
- 7. Season the fish inside and out with salt.
- 8. Sprinkle the finely chopped thyme leaves over the outside of the fish.
- 9. Insert the remaining thyme sprigs into the fish cavities.
- 10. Halve the lemons.
- 11. Slice off the ends of the lemon halves to make them flat.
- 12. Use the tip of a knife to make a small cut in the flesh of each lemon half.
- 13. Insert a bay leaf into each cut.
- 14. Peel the garlic.
- 15. Chop the garlic coarsely.
- 16. Place the trout on a baking sheet.
- 17. Add the garlic and lemon halves to the sheet.
- 18. Roast the trout in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
- 19. Check for doneness: The flesh at the thickest part should separate easily from the bone.
- 20. Roast the fish for a few more minutes if necessary.
- 21. Arrange the trout with the lemons and garlic.
- 22. Serve the dish.
