🍽️ Homemade Cornel Cherry Liqueur

Ingredients
- 1 kg cornelian cherries
- 100 g elderberries
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 cloves
- 1.5 l kirsch
- 400 g raw sugar
Instructions
- 1. Remove the stems from the cornel cherries and wash them thoroughly.
- 2. Drain the water from the cherries.
- 3. Pierce the flesh of each cherry several times with a fork.
- 4. Wash the elderberries and let them drain as well.
- 5. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise with a knife.
- 6. Place the prepared cornel cherries, elderberries, sugar, and spices into a dark glass jar.
- 7. Pour the kirsch (cherry brandy) over the ingredients in the jar.
- 8. Store the mixture for at least four weeks in a warm place.
- 9. Filter the finished liqueur through a coffee filter or tea filter.
- 10. Bottle the liqueur in tightly sealable bottles.
- 11. Store the bottles in a dark and cool place.
- 12. Enjoy the liqueur best with vanilla ice cream.
