🍽️ Crunchy Coconut Macaroons with Chocolate Coating

Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 100 g fine sugar
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch salt
- 175 g coconut flakes
- 200 g dark chocolate couverture
Instructions
- 1. Whip the egg whites in a bowl until they form stiff peaks.
- 2. Gradually stir in the sugar, lemon juice, and salt into the egg whites.
- 3. Gently fold the coconut flakes into the mixture using a spatula.
- 4. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 5. Use two teaspoons to place small mounds of the mixture onto the tray.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees (130 degrees with fan or gas level 1-2).
- 7. Bake the macaroons in the oven for about 30 minutes.
- 8. Let the finished macaroons cool down completely on a wire rack.
- 9. Cut the chocolate into small pieces and place them in a stainless steel bowl.
- 10. Melt the chocolate over a bowl of hot water, stirring occasionally.
- 11. Dip the bottom of each macaroon about 3 millimeters deep into the melted chocolate.
- 12. Wipe off the excess chocolate from the rim of the bowl.
- 13. Place the macaroons on the wire rack with the chocolate side up to dry.
- 14. Carefully loosen the dried macaroons from the rack using a kitchen knife.
