🍰 Crunchy Coconut Macaroons with Orange Flavor

Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 280 g sugar
- 350 g coconut flakes
- Organic orange (zest)
- 100 g chocolate coating (for decorating)
Instructions
- 1. Put the egg whites into a bowl.
- 2. Beat the egg whites with a mixer until they are very firm and airy.
- 3. Add the sugar slowly while continuing to stir.
- 4. Keep beating the mixture until it shines.
- 5. Check if stiff peaks form when you lift the beaters.
- 6. Gently fold the coconut flakes under the egg white mixture using a spoon.
- 7. Also gently fold the finely grated orange peel under the mixture.
- 8. Make sure the air in the mixture does not escape.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
- 10. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 11. Use two spoons to form small mounds from the mixture.
- 12. The mounds should be about the size of a cherry.
- 13. Place the mounds on the prepared baking sheet.
- 14. Bake the macaroons for 10 minutes.
- 15. Remove the macaroons from the oven.
- 16. Let them cool on wire racks.
- 17. Melt some chocolate coating (liquid chocolate covering).
- 18. Decorate the cooled macaroons with the melted chocolate coating.
