  2. 2. Submerge the savoy cabbage leaves in the boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. 3. Remove the leaves from the water and rinse them immediately with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  4. 4. Pat the leaves dry with a kitchen towel.
  5. 5. Trim the thick leaf ribs to make the leaves easier to roll.
  6. 6. Peel one onion and one clove of garlic.
  7. 7. Dice the onion and garlic very finely.
  8. 8. Wash the oregano and shake it dry.
  9. 9. Chop the oregano leaves finely.
  10. 10. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a frying pan.
  11. 11. Sauté the onions and garlic over medium heat until they are translucent.
  12. 12. Transfer the sautéed onions and garlic into a bowl.
  13. 13. Add the minced meat, one egg, and the chopped oregano to the bowl.
  14. 14. Knead the ingredients into a uniform mixture.
  15. 15. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.
  16. 16. Place a savoy cabbage leaf flat on your work surface.
  17. 17. Place one to two tablespoons of the meat mixture in the center of the leaf.
  18. 18. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling.
  19. 19. Roll the leaf tightly into a parcel.
  20. 20. Secure the parcel with kitchen twine.
  21. 21. Heat the remaining oil in a large pot or casserole dish.
  22. 22. Fry the cabbage rolls on all sides until golden brown over medium to high heat.
  23. 23. Remove the browned rolls from the pot and set them aside.

  26. 26. Add the onion cubes to the pot.
  27. 27. Sauté the onions over medium heat until they are translucent.

  30. 30. Stir the puréed tomatoes into the sauce.
  31. 31. Season the sauce with salt, coconut blossom sugar, and pepper.
  32. 32. Place the cabbage rolls back into the sauce.
  33. 33. Cover the pot.
  34. 34. Simmer the rolls over low heat for about 20 minutes.
  35. 35. Turn the rolls once during cooking.
  36. 36. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper before serving.
