Ingredients
- 40 g raisins
- 40 g pine nuts
- 4 spring onions
- 1 garlic clove
- 600 g minced meat (beef or lamb)
- 100 g yogurt
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- 1 pinch ground allspice
- 1 pinch cinnamon powder
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Place the raisins in a small bowl and cover them with lukewarm water. Let the raisins soak for about 30 minutes.
- 2. Heat a pan without fat and toast the pine nuts until golden brown. Remove the nuts from the pan and let them cool completely.
- 3. Wash the spring onions and trim off the tough ends. Slice the onions into fine rings. Set aside a small portion of the green parts for garnish.
- 4. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 5. Pat the soaked raisins dry with a kitchen towel.
- 6. Add the minced meat, the chopped spring onions (except the reserved part), the dry raisins, the cooled pine nuts, the yogurt, and the breadcrumbs to a large bowl.
- 7. Season the mixture with ground allspice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
- 8. Knead all ingredients together with your hands until you have a homogeneous and easily moldable mixture.
- 9. Shape the mixture into small, uniform balls.
- 10. Heat plenty of oil in a pan or pot. Fry the meatballs in it for 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through on all sides.
- 11. Sprinkle the finished meatballs with the reserved green part of the spring onions.
- 12. Serve the meatballs alongside fried potatoes.
