Instructions

  1. 1. Place the raisins in a small bowl and cover them with lukewarm water. Let the raisins soak for about 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat a pan without fat and toast the pine nuts until golden brown. Remove the nuts from the pan and let them cool completely.
  3. 3. Wash the spring onions and trim off the tough ends. Slice the onions into fine rings. Set aside a small portion of the green parts for garnish.
  4. 4. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  5. 5. Pat the soaked raisins dry with a kitchen towel.
  6. 6. Add the minced meat, the chopped spring onions (except the reserved part), the dry raisins, the cooled pine nuts, the yogurt, and the breadcrumbs to a large bowl.
  7. 7. Season the mixture with ground allspice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
  8. 8. Knead all ingredients together with your hands until you have a homogeneous and easily moldable mixture.
  9. 9. Shape the mixture into small, uniform balls.
  10. 10. Heat plenty of oil in a pan or pot. Fry the meatballs in it for 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through on all sides.
  11. 11. Sprinkle the finished meatballs with the reserved green part of the spring onions.
  12. 12. Serve the meatballs alongside fried potatoes.
