  1. 1. Peel the potatoes.
  2. 2. Rinse the potatoes under running water.
  3. 3. Grate the potatoes coarsely using a box grater.
  4. 4. Place the grated potatoes into a bowl.
  5. 5. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  6. 6. Squeeze the moisture out of the potato mixture using your hands.
  7. 7. Grate some nutmeg over the potato mixture.
  8. 8. Heat rapeseed oil in a large non-stick pan.
  9. 9. Divide the potato mixture into four equal portions.
  10. 10. Place one portion into the hot pan.
  11. 11. Press the portion down slightly to flatten it.
  12. 12. Fry the rösti over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
  13. 13. Flip the rösti.
  14. 14. Cook the other side for another 4 to 5 minutes until done.
  15. 15. Let the finished rösti drain on kitchen paper.
