🍽️ Garlic White Bread

Ingredients
- 500 g wheat flour Type 550
- 100 g wheat groats (Type 1700)
- 300 ml water
- 1 cube fresh yeast (42 g)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 garlic bulbs
- flour (for the work surface)
Instructions
- 1. Put the flour in a bowl.
- 2. Take one tablespoon of the wheat groats and set it aside.
- 3. Mix the remaining groats, two tablespoons of oil, and the salt with the flour.
- 4. Stir the yeast into lukewarm water until smooth.
- 5. Combine the yeast mixture with the flour.
- 6. Use the dough hooks of an electric hand mixer to knead everything into a smooth dough.
- 7. Cover the bowl.
- 8. Let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- 9. Separate the garlic into cloves.
- 10. Peel the garlic cloves.
- 11. Knead the dough thoroughly on a floured work surface.
- 12. Divide it into two parts.
- 13. Knead half of the garlic into each portion.
- 14. Shape the dough into balls.
- 15. Let them rise again for about 45 minutes.
- 16. Now shape the balls into elongated loaves.
- 17. Brush them with the remaining oil.
- 18. Sprinkle with the reserved wheat groats.
- 19. Bake the loaves in a preheated oven at 240 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
- 20. Then reduce the temperature to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 21. Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes.
- 22. Remove from the oven.
- 23. Let cool.
- 24. Slice the bread for serving.
- 25. Toast the slices.
- 26. Spread them with a little butter.
