🍽️ Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Crispy Garlic

Ingredients
- 800 g floury potatoes
- 6 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 200 ml milk
- 2 tbsp crème fraîche
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Place the potatoes in a pot with a little water.
- 3. Steam the potatoes over medium heat for about 30 minutes until they are cooked through.
- 4. Peel the garlic.
- 5. Slice two garlic cloves into thin slices.
- 6. Heat some oil in a frying pan.
- 7. Fry the remaining whole garlic cloves slowly in the hot oil.
- 8. Stir occasionally until the cloves are lightly golden brown and soft.
- 9. Remove the fried cloves from the pan.
- 10. Mash the cloves into a paste using a fork.
- 11. Fry the garlic slices in the same pan until golden brown.
- 12. Place the slices on kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
- 13. Peel the cooked potatoes.
- 14. Press the potatoes through a potato ricer into a bowl.
- 15. Pour hot milk over the potatoes.
- 16. Add the garlic paste.
- 17. Add Creme Fraiche.
- 18. Stir everything well until a creamy mixture forms.
- 19. Season the mash with salt and pepper to taste.
- 20. Serve the mash garnished with the crispy garlic slices.
