  1. 1. Peel the garlic cloves. Bring one liter of water with the salt to a boil. Add the garlic cloves to the boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes. Remove them and let them drain. Fill the jars with the garlic, the washed chili peppers, and the bay leaves.
  2. 2. Bring the vinegar to a boil with one-eighth of a liter of water and the sugar. Pour the hot liquid over the garlic in the jars. Seal the jars tightly.
