  1. 1. Peel four garlic cloves.
  2. 2. Place the garlic cloves, lemon juice, oil, thyme leaves, salt, pepper, and mustard in a blender.
  3. 3. Blend the ingredients into a marinade.
  4. 4. Rub the chicken with half of the marinade.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  6. 6. Peel the onions.
  7. 7. Cut the onions into coarse cubes.
  8. 8. Roughly chop the remaining garlic with the skin on (halve or quarter it).
  9. 9. Place the onion cubes and the coarse garlic into a greased casserole dish.
  10. 10. Place the chicken on top of the vegetables with the breast side facing up.
  11. 11. Roast the chicken on the middle rack for 60 to 70 minutes.
  12. 12. After about 10 minutes, pour 0.5 liters of water into the casserole dish.
  13. 13. Brush the chicken repeatedly with the remaining marinade during cooking.
  14. 14. Season the pan juices with salt and pepper before serving.
  15. 15. Serve the finished chicken in the casserole dish with baguette.
