🍽️ Garlic Bagels

Ingredients
- 450 g flour
- 0.5 cube yeast (21 g)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 125 ml milk
- 60 ml oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 egg white
- 2 tbsp garlic cloves
Instructions
- 1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk with one tablespoon of sugar.
- 2. Mix the yeast solution with flour, oil, salt, and egg.
- 3. Knead the dough well using the dough hook of your mixer.
- 4. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- 5. Knead the dough thoroughly once more.
- 6. Let the dough rise again in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- 7. Briefly knead the dough on a lightly floured surface.
- 8. Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces.
- 9. Shape each piece into a ball.
- 10. Press a hole into the center of each ball with your thumb.
- 11. Widen the hole to about 4 cm and shape the dough into a ring.
- 12. Let the bagels rise for about 15 minutes.
- 13. Boil the bagels in batches for about 1 minute in boiling salted water.
- 14. Turn the bagels once during cooking.
- 15. Remove the bagels and let them drain.
- 16. Place the bagels on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 17. Brush the bagels with beaten egg white.
- 18. Sprinkle the bagels with chopped garlic if desired.
- 19. Bake the bagels in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
