Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius using the top and bottom heat setting.
  2. 2. Pour boiling water over the sultanas and currants. Place them in a sieve and let them drain well.
  3. 3. Finely chop the dried plums. Mix them with the drained sultanas, currants, and rum.
  4. 4. Peel the apple. Cut it into quarters and remove the core. Grate the flesh finely.
  5. 5. Add the grated apples, along with the finely chopped candied lemon peel and candied orange peel, to the rum fruit mixture.
  6. 6. Beat the soft butter with the sugar and spices until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  7. 7. Stir the eggs into the butter mixture. Continue stirring until a nice, foamy mass forms.
  8. 8. Gently fold in the breadcrumbs, flour, and nuts into the egg mixture.
  9. 9. Add the dry ingredients to the wet fruit mixture. Stir everything together to form a uniform dough.
  10. 10. Fill the dough into 12 small molds. Bake the puddings in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.
  11. 11. Remove the molds from the oven. Let the puddings cool down slightly inside them.
  12. 12. Carefully release the puddings from the molds. Dust them with powdered sugar and serve.
