Ingredients
- 1 rolls
- 6 sprigs thyme
- 300 ml milk
- 100 g Emmentaler
- 4 eggs
- salt
- 150 g salami (in slices)
- butter (for the ramekins)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the rolls into small cubes.
- 2. Wash the thyme and shake it dry.
- 3. Pluck the thyme leaves from the stems.
- 4. Bring the milk to a boil with the thyme leaves.
- 5. Remove the pan from the heat.
- 6. Stir in the cheese gradually until it has completely melted.
- 7. Separate the eggs into yolks and whites.
- 8. Stir the egg yolks into the cheese mixture.
- 9. Season the mixture with salt.
- 10. Pour the liquid over the bread cubes.
- 11. Let the mixture soak for 10 minutes.
- 12. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.
- 13. Dice the salami.
- 14. Fold the salami cubes into the cheese-bread mixture.
- 15. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff.
- 16. Gently fold the egg whites into the mixture.
- 17. Grease six small tartlet molds.
- 18. Fill the molds with the mixture.
- 19. Smooth the top surface.
- 20. Bake the casseroles in the center of the oven at 150 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until golden yellow.
- 21. Serve the casseroles hot, warm, or cold.
