  1. 1. Peel the pears.
  2. 2. Cut the pears into quarters.
  3. 3. Remove the core from the pear pieces.
  4. 4. Dice the pear pieces.
  5. 5. Place the pears in a bowl.
  6. 6. Add the vanilla sugar.
  7. 7. Add the brown sugar.
  8. 8. Add the lemon juice.
  9. 9. Add the slivered almonds.
  10. 10. Mix all ingredients well together.
  11. 11. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  12. 12. Cut the strudel pastry into squares of about 20 by 20 centimeters.
  13. 13. Brush the pastry squares with butter.
  14. 14. Distribute the pear filling on the bottom third of each pastry square.
  15. 15. Fold the side edges of the pastry towards the center.
  16. 16. Roll the pastry squares into small strudels.
  17. 17. Place the strudels seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  18. 18. Brush the strudels with the remaining butter.
  19. 19. Sprinkle the strudels with sliced almonds.
  20. 20. Bake the strudels for about 15 minutes until golden brown in the oven.
  21. 21. Remove the strudels from the oven.
  22. 22. Dust the strudels with powdered sugar.
  23. 23. Serve the strudels.
