  3. 3. Pour 3 tablespoons of oil and 125 milliliters of lukewarm water into the well.
  4. 4. Knead everything into a smooth and elastic dough.
  5. 5. Shape the dough into a ball.
  6. 6. Brush the ball with a little of the remaining oil.
  7. 7. Wrap the dough ball in cling film.
  8. 8. Let the dough rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
  10. 10. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
  11. 11. Slice the apples thinly across the grain.
  12. 12. Mix the apple slices with raisins, sugar, cinnamon, and cream.
  13. 13. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  14. 14. Roll out the dough thinly on a floured cloth.
  15. 15. Carefully stretch the dough over your knuckles until it is paper-thin.
  16. 16. Brush the dough with the melted butter.
  17. 17. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the dough.
  18. 18. Distribute the apple mixture evenly over the dough.
  19. 19. Sprinkle the nuts over the apple filling.
  20. 20. Roll up the strudel tightly using the cloth.
  21. 21. Place the strudel seam-side down on a buttered baking sheet.
