🍽️ Simple Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 3 onions
- 3 garlic cloves
- 4 sprigs basil
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 175 ml white wine (or vegetable broth)
- 850 g peeled tomatoes (can)
- salt
- pepper
- 1 tsp agave syrup
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and the garlic.
- 2. Finely chop the onions and the garlic.
- 3. Wash the basil.
- 4. Shake the basil dry.
- 5. Heat the olive oil in a pot.
- 6. Sauté the onions and garlic over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes until translucent.
- 7. Add the basil.
- 8. Sauté the basil briefly.
- 9. Add the wine or broth.
- 10. Let the liquid reduce completely.
- 11. Roughly crush the canned tomatoes with a knife.
- 12. Add the tomatoes along with the tomato liquid to the pot.
- 13. Bring the sauce to a boil.
- 14. Simmer the sauce over medium heat for 25 to 30 minutes.
- 15. Remove the basil from the sauce.
- 16. Season the sauce with salt.
- 17. Season the sauce with pepper.
- 18. Season the sauce with agave syrup.
- 19. Use the sauce immediately or chill it.
- 20. Store the sauce in the refrigerator.
- 21. Use the sauce within 3 days.
- 22. Rinse 2 jars with boiling hot water.
- 23. Fill the jars with the boiling hot sauce.
- 24. Seal the jars immediately with lids.
- 25. Place the jars upside down for 5 minutes.
- 26. Place the jars upright again.
- 27. Store the jars in a cool place.
- 28. Use the sauce within 3 months.
