🍰 Crispy Apple Fritters with Cinnamon Sugar

Ingredients
- 4 large apples (e.g. Boskop)
- 150 g spelt whole wheat flour
- 2 eggs
- 200 ml milk (3.5% fat)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch salt
- 50 g ghee
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 2 tbsp coconut blossom sugar
Instructions
- 1. Peel the apples and remove the core.
- 2. Slice the apples into rounds about 1 cm thick.
- 3. Whisk the flour with the eggs, milk, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to form a thick batter.
- 4. Heat some lard in a pan.
- 5. Dip the apple rings into the batter.
- 6. Fry the apple fritters in the hot fat over medium heat until golden brown.
- 7. Turn the fritters once while frying.
- 8. Fry the apple fritters for 5 to 7 minutes.
- 9. Place the finished fritters on a plate lined with kitchen paper.
- 10. Keep the apple fritters warm in the oven at 100 °C (convection: 80 °C; gas: setting 1).
- 11. Fry the remaining apple fritters one by one in clarified butter.
- 12. Arrange all the fritters on a platter.
- 13. Mix the cinnamon with the coconut blossom sugar.
- 14. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apple fritters.
- 15. Serve the apple fritters immediately.
