  1. 1. Beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla powder with a hand mixer until creamy.
  2. 2. Mix the whole grain flour, 30 grams of fine flour (Type 1050), a pinch of salt, and the baking powder in a separate bowl.
  3. 3. Stir the low-fat quark and the milk into the flour mixture.
  4. 4. Gently fold the beaten egg mixture into the batter.
  5. 5. Wash the cherries, halve them, and remove the pits.
  6. 6. Dry the cherries well.
  7. 7. Toss the cherries with the remaining fine flour (Type 1050) so they do not sink in the batter.
  8. 8. Grease the baking pan or the portion molds if necessary.
  9. 9. Distribute half of the batter into the molds.
  10. 10. Add half of the cherries on top of the batter.
  11. 11. Pour the remaining batter over it and smooth it out.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the remaining cherries on top.
  13. 13. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C with fan or Gas Mark 3).
  14. 14. Bake the cake for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  15. 15. Serve the cake lukewarm.
