🍳 Sweet Cherry Jam

Ingredients
- 1 kg sour cherries
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 500 g jam sugar (2:1)
- 20 ml kirsch
Instructions
- 1. Wash the cherries thoroughly and remove the pits. Place the fruit together with the sugar and the cinnamon stick in a large pot. Let the mixture steep under a lid for about one hour.
- 2. Bring the cherries to a boil while stirring constantly and let them bubble vigorously for about three minutes. Keep stirring and skim off any foam that forms. Stir in the cherry water, fill the jam into previously rinsed hot jars, seal them tightly, and let them cool down.
- 3. If you store the cherry jam in a cool and dark place, it will keep for several months.
