🍳 Homemade Cherry Jam

Ingredients
- 1 kg sour cherries (pitted)
- 500 g pectin sugar from raw cane sugar (2:1)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the jars with hot water.
- 2. Place the jars upside down on a clean cloth to drain and dry.
- 3. Bring the lids to a boil in a pot of water for a short time.
- 4. Put the cherries into a large pot.
- 5. Mash the cherries slightly with a potato masher.
- 6. Mix the cherries with the jam sugar.
- 7. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring.
- 8. Let the jam bubble and cook for three minutes.
- 9. Fill the hot jam to the brim into the prepared jars.
- 10. Seal the jars immediately with the hot lids.
- 11. Turn the sealed jars upside down for about ten minutes.
- 12. Turn the jars back over.
- 13. Let the jam cool down completely.
- 14. Store the jars in a cool and dark place.
