Ingredients
- butter (for the pan)
- 5 eggs
- 50 g sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 75 g flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 small spoon baking powder
- 100 g quark
- 75 ml milk
- 750 g sweet cherries
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Grease a round baking dish with butter.
- 3. Whisk the eggs together with the sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy.
- 4. Add the flour, a pinch of salt, the baking powder, the quark (curd cheese), and the milk to the egg mixture.
- 5. Stir the ingredients well until a smooth batter forms.
- 6. Wash the cherries and remove the pits.
- 7. Halve the cherries and let them drain well.
- 8. Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
- 9. Distribute the cherries evenly over the batter.
- 10. Press the cherries slightly into the batter.
- 11. Bake the clafouti for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
- 12. Let the cake cool down for a short while.
- 13. Dust it with powdered sugar.
- 14. Serve it with whipped cream if desired.
