  1. 1. Place the chickpeas in a container with water overnight.
  2. 2. Drain the soaking water the next day.
  3. 3. Place the chickpeas in a pot and cover them with fresh water.
  4. 4. Cook the beans for about 40 minutes until they are soft.
  5. 5. Remove the pot from the heat.
  6. 6. Pour the chickpeas into a colander.
  7. 7. Rinse the beans briefly under cold water.
  8. 8. Set aside a few chickpeas for decoration.
  9. 9. Puree the remaining chickpeas with a hand blender until smooth.
  10. 10. Peel the garlic cloves.
  11. 11. Chop the garlic finely.
  12. 12. Mash the garlic with a pinch of salt into a paste.
  13. 13. Add the garlic paste to the pureed chickpeas.
  14. 14. Stir in tahini (sesame paste), lime juice, cumin, and 3 tablespoons of oil.
  15. 15. Mix everything until a smooth cream forms.
  16. 16. Season the dip to taste with salt and lime juice.
  17. 17. Transfer the dip to a serving plate.
  18. 18. Drizzle the dip with the remaining oil.
  19. 19. Sprinkle the reserved chickpeas on top for decoration.
