  1. 1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (conventional heat).
  2. 2. Line two baking sheets with baking paper.
  3. 3. Take a large bowl and add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. 4. Stir the dry ingredients in the bowl well with a spoon or whisk.
  5. 5. Take a second, clean bowl.
  6. 6. Add butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar to this second bowl.
  7. 7. Beat the butter-sugar mixture with a mixer or hand whisk until it is light and fluffy.
  8. 8. Add the egg to the fluffy butter mixture.
  9. 9. Stir the egg in briefly until it is incorporated.
  10. 10. Add the prepared flour mixture to the butter mixture.
  11. 11. Add the orange juice.
  12. 12. Stir everything together briefly until a dough forms. Do not overmix.
  13. 13. Take the cranberries and gently fold them into the dough with a spoon.
  14. 14. Take two tablespoons of dough.
  15. 15. Shape it into a small mound or cookie.
  16. 16. Place the dough mound on the prepared baking sheet.
  17. 17. Repeat this until you have distributed all cookies on the sheets.
  18. 18. Slide the sheets into the center of the preheated oven.
  19. 19. Bake the cookies for 15 minutes until they are golden brown.
  20. 20. Take the baking sheets out of the oven.
  21. 21. Carefully lift the baking paper with the hot cookies onto a kitchen wire rack.
  22. 22. Let the cookies cool down completely on the rack.
