  7. 7. Cut the bread into 12 equal slices.
  8. 8. Place the bread slices on an oven rack.
  9. 9. Turn the oven grill to high heat.
  10. 10. Toast the bread slices under the hot grill until golden brown on one side.
  11. 11. Flip the slices and toast the other side until golden brown as well.
  12. 12. Ensure the toasting time per side is between 1.5 and 2.5 minutes.
  13. 13. Peel the garlic clove.
  14. 14. Rub one side of the toasted bread slices with the garlic.
  15. 15. Add the leftover garlic pieces unchopped to the tomatoes in the bowl.

  18. 18. Decoratively arrange the toasted bread slices on the buffet table.
  19. 19. Place the tomato puree, olive oil, sea salt, cheese, and ham nearby.
